The Rosemead School District Nutrition and Wellness Department is committed to serving nutritious meals to our students and children in our community during the unanticipated school closures and distance learning. Due to the recent USDA seamless summer option waiver extension, Rosemead school district will offer free breakfast and lunch meals to all children 18 years and younger starting September 11th through June 30, 2021.

The funding allows all children in our community 18 and under to receive a free breakfast and lunch. Additionally, students enrolled in the Rosemead School District are eligible to receive a supper meal at no cost. Parents can pick up meals at any of the five Rosemead school sites. Effective September 16, 2020 supper will only be available for pickup at Muscatel Middle School on Wednesday and Friday from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

In order to receive continued funding for free supper meals, students need to complete a 15-30 minute enrichment/ education activity daily. Information and a guide to accessing the activities can be accessed through the district website at under Departments - Child Development Department.

Parents can pick up breakfast and lunch meals during one of these time slots.

When will P-EBT extension cards arrive?

Eligible children will get P-EBT extension cards in the mail early November 2020 through the end of December 2020.

Who is eligible?

Children who received P-EBT benefits over the summer of 2020 can get more P-EBT benefits if:

  • they are still a CA registered student; and
  • can be assumed to be attending school via distance learning.

Benefit amounts are unique to each child and determined based on how many school days a student can be assumed to be attending school via distance learning.

Families that have already received a P-EBT card and need assistance with PIN set up, need to request a replacement card, or did not receive their card in the mail as expected, may contact the P-EBT Helpline at (877) 328-9677 office for help.

The P-EBT Helpline can only help families that expected to receive a card in the mail or already received a P-EBT card. The P-EBT Helpline cannot assist with P-EBT eligibility issues or issue P-EBT benefits.
